The summer is coming to a close. Kids are back in school beginning a new year of growth and learning. Even if we are not packing our backpacks and lunch boxes, we are each given the opportunity in every moment to grow and learn.
Life evolves and what seems like an end is a new beginning. Some times we create change and other times change occurs in our lives without actively creating it. Just as summer changes to fall in a natural rhythm, there is an undercurrent in our lives that is happening. Within this undercurrent there is opportunity to connect, share, trust, open, work together, love and create.
This month we celebrate new beginnings, growth, connection and creation… in each moment in each one of us, and collectively.
**URU Yoga-Gulf Breeze to Open Soon!**
We have exciting news. History, dreaming, talking, discussion, reflection and investigation have lead to the creation of an URU Gulf Breeze. Kerry Whiteley and I will be partnering to bring a sweet yoga studio to Gulf Breeze. Kerry and I have a history of being friends since our children did Story Sprouts together at a young age. We started dreaming deeper together in the spring of last year. Kerry had the vision to bring her love of yoga and her love of Gulf Breeze together and brought the vision to me. I was excited about the idea and we starting discussing the possibility of partnering. We have looked at many places over the summer and the sweetest place came to us. Our vision for the Gulf Breeze yoga community is now coming to fruition. Please join us on this beautiful journey.
With love and gratitude,
Rebecca Sathre, Chris Amador, Kerry Whiteley & the URU Crew
**Yoga Pricing Changes in the Community**
In an effort to create a more sustainable future for the Pensacola yoga community, URU Yoga and Beyond and Breath Yoga & Wellness joined together to ask for a greater financial contribution for yoga classes. The drop in rates for both student and regular drop-ins were raised to $7 and $12 respectively at all locations of both Breathe and URU, effective August 1st, 2015. Please see our website for class pass changes as well.
If for any reason this change will cause a financial hardship for you or make you unable to continue at your current frequency of practice, please contact the director(s) of your chosen studio and talk with them about work exchange options that might make the practice more affordable. Class Packages and Unlimited Pricing will be posted on the website.

URU Teacher Training 2015/2016
URU offers a local Pensacola Yoga Teacher Training. We are a 250 hour training that is registered with Yoga Alliance at 200 hour level. We are registered for MyCaa scholarship for military spouses as well. We start in September and end in May each year. The strength of the URU teacher training is that you have so much hands on teaching experience through mentorship and you will be able to teach yoga with confidence and grace when you graduate. Our training takes you through personal growth as well as growth in new and old relationships. You will gain a deeper understanding of yourself and you will find your voice as a teacher as well as a human being.
We will study asana, pranayama, meditation, philosophy, Thai Yoga Bodywork, mantra, mudras, anatomy and physiology and more. You will learn to teach beginner to advanced classes. You also have the opportunity to teach and mentor in hot yoga and aerial yoga if that is where you are drawn. You will begin to see where you are naturally drawn as a teacher and you will also stretch that boundary to see what your capabilities are.
The URU Yoga Teacher Training is a peak pose vinyasa based teacher training with an emphasis on alignment. An URU class contains mantra, a theme, pranayama, vinyasa flow, alignment and meditation. You will be encouraged to find your authenticity as a teacher as well as a human being. You will be encouraged to engage fully into your teaching and life.
Teacher Training is a commitment. Please be ready to commit yourself fully to the training for yourself, the teachers, and the other teacher trainees..
The time commitment is 1 weekend a month for 9 months, plus 2 yoga classes a week, home study assignments and 2 karma practicum classes at the end of the month.
We have been approved by MCAA for military spouse benefits.

Kerry Whiteley began her regular yoga practice when she was pregnant with her second child in 2010. After a couple years of regular practice, the beauty of yoga beyond asana began to open to her and she decided to deepen her practice by learning how to teach yoga in URU’s 200 hour program in 2014. She enjoys making the seemingly unattainable, attainable and assists in reaching a place of comfort in poses while also bring the beauty of yoga beyond asana in a non-invasive way. In addition to her love of yoga, she loves healthy eating. Kerry owns a raw chocolate and desserts business, Sweet & Simple Raw Treats. When not doing yoga or making raw treats, Kerry loves to be with her husband, Tim, who has supported her journey and her kids who inspire her.
and all of our new teachers!
